Clinics and Services
Antenatal Care
Antenatal care is the care and help you receive from health professionals during the course of your pregnancy. It is important you take good care of your own health and that of your unborn baby during pregnancy.
When you find out that you are pregnant please register your pregnancy by completing the following online referral form or call the Midwifery team directly on 01865 220457. An initial appointment with your GP is no longer necessary unless you are on regular medication or have existing medical conditions which may impact your pregnancy. If that is the case, please contact us to request a GP appointment.
Blood Pressure Monitoring
You are welcome to check your blood pressure yourself at home if you have a machine or by using one of our self-check machines. These can be found opposite room 5 at the Manor Surgery and in the waiting room at Kennington Health Centre.
For more information see the NHS Blood Pressure Monitoring page.
To send us your Blood Pressure readings please use our Blood Pressure Review form
Breast Screening
Anyone registered with a GP as female will be invited for NHS breast screening every 3 years between the ages of 50 and 71. You'll get a letter in the post inviting you. Screening is by appointment only and there is no drop-in service. The screening office runs a rolling programme which invites women by area. The requirement is that all women will receive their first invitation before their 53rd birthday.
Women aged 71 or over can contact the local breast screening unit on 01865 235621 to make an appointment every 3 years. Women with breast symptoms should see their GP.
Cancer Care
If you have received a cancer diagnosis the surgery is here to help you.
You will be contacted within 12 weeks of your diagnosis by our Cancer Care Coordinator, Anita Spiers, to offer support at this difficult time.
It will then be entirely your choice if you would like continued support from her through your treatment and beyond, or if you don’t think that’s needed, then that’s fine too.
You will also be offered an appointment with your GP within the first year of diagnosis so they can discuss the impact cancer or its treatment has had on you (both emotionally and physically) and offer help with this.
If you are worried about your cancer and need to speak to a healthcare professional please don’t feel like you have to wait for this review.
Cardiovascular Clinic
This clinic is for people with a history of Heart Disease (angina, heart attack, coronary bypass surgery, stent insertion) and/or a Stroke (CVA) or mini-stroke (TIA).
Olga James is our lead cardiovascular nurse.
Appointments include an assessment of blood pressure, blood test results and current medication. There is an emphasis on health promotion and an opportunity to discuss how considering lifestyle issues i.e. diet, activity, smoking and weight can help improve heart health.
Invitations to attend the clinic are sent 12 monthly and patients are encouraged to maintain contact with their GP between appointments. If you are attending this clinic and have a blood pressure machine at home, please bring a record of the readings with you.
Management of cardiovascular care is based on current national guidelines which can be found on the following websites:
If you have heart disease and diabetes you will only need to be seen in the diabetes clinic.
Cervical Smears
According to national guidelines we operate a recall system for women aged between 25 to 65 years old. Most cervical smears are done by our practice nurses in their general clinics. You can book appointments online via the NHS app or directly through the booking link in your invitation text.
Childhood Immunisations
One of the most important things that a parent can do for their child is to make sure that they have all their routine childhood vaccinations. It’s the most effective way of keeping them protected against infectious diseases.
Ideally, children should have their injections at the right age to protect them as early as possible and minimise the risk of infection.
Clinical Research
The Manor Group is involved in medical research and from time to time you may be approached to take part. Taking part in research is voluntary: you can freely accept or decline, and this will not affect the care that you receive in any way. Even if you agree to take part, you can still withdraw at any time, without having to provide justification.
Withdrawing from a study will not affect the care we provide for you.
Diabetes Clinic
Our Diabetes clinic offers a comprehensive service for people with Type 2 Diabetes and work in conjunction with our secondary care colleagues to support our patients with Type 1 Diabetes where appropriate. Our service is run by our experienced nursing team and is led by Dawn Cuzner.
There is a strong emphasis on health promotion and working with people, and their families, to help them be as involved as they would like to be in the management of their diabetes. Invitations to attend the clinic are sent 3 to 6 monthly depending on individual requirements. If you are attending this clinic, it is helpful if you can bring a urine sample, records of blood glucose readings and blood pressure readings that you may have taken at home.
Care is based on national guidelines for diabetes which can be found on the Diabetes UK website
ECG Clinic
We provide an ECG service at the practice. Your doctor or nurse may recommend this and appointments can then be made at reception.

Respiratory Clinic
The respiratory clinic is for people with Asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Please bring your inhalers, spacers and peak flow metres with you to your appointment.
Our respiratory team are Abi Dowman and Suzanne Matthews
Social Prescribing
Your health and wellbeing can be affected by many factors beyond medical care. Social Prescribers are here to support you with non-medical challenges by connecting you with local services, activities, and support networks. They take the time to listen and help you access practical and emotional support that can make a real difference in your daily life.
Our Social Prescribers can:
- Help with loneliness and social isolation: Connecting you with local groups, befriending services, and social activities.
- Signpost to financial and housing support: Advising on where to get help with money concerns, benefits, or housing issues.
- Provide information on local groups, activities, and courses: Helping you access hobbies, learning opportunities, or community initiatives.
- Offer practical and emotional support: Helping you find the right services to improve your wellbeing.
If we feel you could benefit from Social Prescribing, your GP or another member of our practice team may refer you. You can also request an appointment yourself.
Request an Appointment with a Social Prescriber
If you think a Social Prescriber could help you, you can request an appointment in the following ways:
- Request an appointment through an online consultation: This is the quickest and easiest way.
- Call us on 01865 762535: Lines are open Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 6:00 pm.
- Visit the practice in person: Speak to a receptionist at Manor Surgery or Kennington Health Centre.
Once you submit a request, a member of our team will usually contact you within 5 working days to discuss your concerns and suggest suitable support options. If needed, they can arrange a follow-up call, an in-person meeting, or a home visit.
Travel Vaccinations
We are only able to offer the vaccines that are free of charge on the NHS. You will need to make arrangement with a private travel clinic for all other travel medicine requirements.
