Meningitis B outbreak
As you may be aware, there has been an outbreak of Meningitis B in Kent. We understand this may cause concern, particularly for those with links to the Canterbury area.
At present, there has been no change to national NHS guidance for GP practices. A course of Meningitis B vaccines has been given to all children aged 2 years and under since 2015. We are not being advised to offer additional vaccinations outside of the routine schedule. Vaccines can only be given to patients who are eligible as part of the NHS immunisation programme. You can check your vaccine status on the NHS app.
