Support for Carers

Who is a carer?

A carer is a person of any age who provides unpaid support to family or friends who could not manage without this help. This could be caring for relative, partner or friend who is frail, ill disabled or has mental health or substances misuse problems.

Carers do not always recognise themselves as carers and often fail to seek support that they are entitled to.

If you are caring for someone on an unpaid basis please tell us and fill in our Carers Registration form. You can be added to our practice 'carer register and gain access to information and support, including access to a named Carer Champion. 

A Carer Champion is a staff member at your practice who support carers. They are the key point of contact and the ‘voice’ for carers. Our Carer Champion for the Manor Group is Victoria McDermott
