The Health Visitor Service (Tel: 01865 761068)

Health Visitors are qualified nurses with special training in child health, health promotion and education. They work predominantly with children and families.

Child Health Clinics are held at the surgery on:

  • Tuesdays between 1.30 pm and 3.30 pm
    and
  • Thursdays between 1.30 pm and 2.30 pm.

The clinics are for well children and babies and are run by health visitors who can advise on all aspects of child health.

Developmental reviews and immunisations are carried out in the Tuesday clinic only.

The Community Midwife Service

The midwives work in the practice caring for women throughout their pregnancies together with the doctors. They look after women during labour in the John Radcliffe Hospital or at home and in the early days after delivery. If you have a history of problems in pregnancy or labour care may be shared with the hospital team.
